CSOS, CBOS TO DELIVER ADAPTED LEGAL SERVICES TO COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY NATURAL RESOURCE EXTRACTION IN THE REGIONS OF SHINYANGA, MARA, MANYARA & TANGA IN TANZANIA
Project: Empowered Tanzanian civil society for fostered justice & human rights in natural resource governance.
Objective of the package funds for service provision: ASF is looking to support selected Civil society or Community-based Organizations (CSOs or CBOs), Legal Aid Providers (LASPs) to deliver adapted legal aid services to the most vulnerable groups in ASF areas of operation.
Profile of the CSO or CBO
- Civil society or Community-based Organizations (CSOs & CBOs), Legal Aid Providers (LASPs) with an established presence and an operational capacity in the target areas
- Organizational objectives which reflect a commitment to respect for human rights in natural resources governance.
- Operations entail the delivery of legal aid (presence of lawyers, paralegals/mediators, community monitors etc.) and specific efforts to reach individuals and or groups whose rights have been violated, resulting from natural resources extraction.
- Experience working with the Tanzanian justice system and diverse stakeholders to elicit actionable commitments in delivering adapted legal services to individuals and or groups affected by natural resources extraction.
Submission requirements
- Technical proposal indicating interpretation of the Call for Expression of Interest
- Proposed implementation plan and budget
- A profile of the CSO or CBO (full name, physical addresses, contacts).
- The Staffing Plan for the intended support
