Job Summary
The Legal Officer will be part of the growing Legal Team. Under the direction of the Head of Legal, the Legal Officer will contribute to the Team’s efforts in meeting the goals and objectives of the Company. The position will require an individual who is proficient with the Legislative Framework in Uganda on Mobile Money Lenders and on data Privacy. The individual needs to be comfortable with core principles of corporate governance, contract management, corporate law and employment law.

Job Description/Requirements
Purpose of the position
The Legal Officer will be responsible for assisting in general legal activities, continuous risk assessments of the Company operations and mitigation of potential risks.
Reporting to: Head of Legal
Core Hours: 08:00 - 17:30
Working hours: Monday - Friday and beyond as needed
Location: Kampala with travel to other areas in Uganda
Purpose: Direct Line Manager you will report to, will set deliverables, and evaluate performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Preparing and reviewing policies
• Reviewing and drafting contracts
• Monitoring compliance with the national and count legislation
• Filing pleadings
• Conducting research on emerging legal issues
• Such other tasks and duties as the Company may assign
