Nature of Position

The Assistant Field Security officer is also expected to assist with the preparation of MSCR/CONOPs submissions as required.

The incumbent is supervised by the Head of Sub-Office, Adjumani and under the technical supervision of the Senior Field Safety Advisor for Uganda, who defines work objectives including in relation to the overall coordination of Uganda and provides necessary advice and guidance.

The incumbent maintains regular contact on a working level on routine issues with other UNHCR staff members, security professionals from other UN agencies, NGOs, implementing partners, security forces, local authorities, armed groups and other stakeholders directly impacting on security issues in the area to facilitate the operation.

The Assistant Field Security Officer would be required to support security assessments of structures and premises that may be utilized by UNHCR and other UN agencies to ensure MOSS/MORSS compliance. When working remotely, the incumbent must ensure adequate communication and internet access at all hours in order to perform his/her duties.
