Majibu Finance Co. Ltd., a fast-growing vehicle and asset-financing company backed by an international group, is looking for an ambitious, hands-on Country Manager to lead our Uganda operations. You will own the country P&L, drive portfolio growth, build a high-performing team and shape the strategy of a dynamic asset-financing business.

Job Description – Key Responsibilities
- Overall business leadership – take full ownership of the Uganda business: strategy, budget, P&L and portfolio performance.
- Portfolio growth & quality – drive loan origination, manage credit quality, collections performance and portfolio risk in line with Group targets.
- Team leadership – lead, coach and develop the local team across sales, credit, collections, operations and customer service; recruit key talent.
- Operations management – oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient processes, strong internal controls and excellent customer experience.
- Stakeholder & partner management – build and maintain relationships with partners, dealers, regulators, banks and other key stakeholders.
- Compliance & governance – ensure full compliance with Ugandan legislation, licensing requirements and Group policies (incl. AML/KYC).
- Reporting & analytics – deliver accurate and timely reporting to Group management; translate data into decisions and action plans.
- Business development – identify and develop new products, channels and market opportunities.
Experience and Skills
- 5+ years of leadership experience in financial services, microfinance, asset financing, banking or a related field – ideally in East Africa.
- Proven track record of managing a P&L and delivering growth and profitability targets.
- Strong understanding of credit, collections and portfolio risk management.
- Experience building and leading teams of 20+ people.
- Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- High integrity, ownership mindset and a hands-on, get-things-done attitude.
- Fluent English (written and spoken); knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or a related field (Master’s/MBA is an advantage).
