Company Description OMNI GYM AFRICA is a fitness technology company that provides an app-based subscription service for remote access to multiple gyms. Role Description The Grants Officer is a part-time hybrid commission based role in Kampala, with plenty work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for identifying grant and fellowship opportunities, coordinating the grants pipeline, and managing documentation and reporting requirements. The Grants Officer will research potential funders, develop compelling proposals aligned with OMNI GYM AFRICA’s mission, and track grant budgets and timelines. Day-to-day tasks include drafting and editing grant applications, maintaining grant records, monitoring compliance with funder requirements, and preparing progress and financial reports. The role will collaborate with internal teams to gather program data and ensure that funded projects are implemented and reported on effectively.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in Grant Administration, including tracking submissions, managing grant documentation, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
- Strong Proposal Writing and Communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, persuasive narratives and tailored grant applications.
- Solid Finance and Analytical Skills to support budget development, financial tracking for grants, and data-driven reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, business, finance, development studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working with NGOs, social enterprises, or impact-focused organizations, ideally in health, fitness, or technology sectors.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and coordinate effectively with both in-office and remote team members.
- Proficiency in standard office and collaboration tools (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, online project management platforms).
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and transparent grant practices.
