Job summary
The Risk and Recovery Officer manages non-performing loans (bad debts) and high-risk credit portfolios. This role balances firm debt collection policies with professional client communication to secure repayments and minimize company risk
Job descriptions & requirements
Debt Tracking and Monitoring: Review daily loan reports to spot overdue payments, delinquent accounts, and emerging credit risks.
Client Communication and Negotiation: Call, email, or visit clients face-to-face to understand their financial challenges and arrange practical repayment plans.
Field Operations: Conduct field visits, inspect customer securities or collaterals, and coordinate asset liquidation or asset recovery (such as vehicle or equipment repossession) when policies allow.
Legal and External Coordination: Prepare cases for legal action, manage relationships with external court bailiffs or debt collectors, and ensure formal instructions follow compliance rules.
Risk Management and Reporting: Maintain precise records of all collections, reconcile recovered cash amounts, and advise management on chronic defaulters or debt write-offs.
