Position Overview

● Reports To: Head of Cash in Transit (CIT) / Chief Operating Officer (COO)
● Direct Reports: CIT Crew Commanders, Vault Officers, CIT Drivers, Control Room Operators, and Branch Administrative Staff
Main Purpose of the Position
The Branch Manager – CIT (Gulu) is responsible for the overall operational efficiency, profitability, and strict security compliance of the Gulu branch cash management services. The incumbent will manage day-to-day high-risk Cash Services Solutions (CSS)—including logistics, vault operations, ATM replenishment, and armored transport—ensuring contractual obligations to regional clients (banks, retail hubs) are met safely and cost-effectively.
Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Responsibilities
1. Operational & Security Excellence
● Vault & CIT Logistics: Supervise all daily Cash in Transit (CIT) route dispatches, Vault holdings, and Cash Processing Centre (CPC) tasks across Northern Uganda.
● Risk Compliance: Strictly enforce "The G4S Way" operating standard procedures, local legislation, and international minimum-security standards to minimize transit vulnerabilities.
● Emergency Preparedness: Lead tactical response drills and contingency plans for high-threat scenarios, cash losses, or vehicle breakdowns.
● Fleet Management: Oversee the scheduling, maintenance, and tracking of armored vehicles to maximize operational lifespans and reduce downtime.
2. Financial Performance & Cost Control
● P&L Management: Manage the Gulu branch budget, ensuring alignment between actual operational costs, forecasts, and gross margin targets.
● Resource Optimization: Direct controls on operational overtime, vehicle fuel efficiency, fleet maintenance, and direct wage management.
● Billing Accuracy: Ensure correct and timely customer invoicing, overseeing regional service adjustments or renewals.
3. Client Relations & Stakeholder Management
● Service Delivery: Maintain high retention by meeting or exceeding service level agreements (SLAs) for key financial institutions and retail groups in Gulu.
● Security Liaisons: Establish and maintain robust relationships with local Uganda Police Force (UPF) units and regional intelligence nodes to secure escort support and risk alerts.
4. Team Leadership & People Development
● Vetting & Compliance: Oversee strict background vetting and continuous screening for all branch CIT crew members.
● Performance & Safety: Enforce adherence to Health and Safety (HSE) protocols and evaluate performance metrics for crew commanders, drivers, and vault handlers.
● Disciplinary Oversight: Manage grievance procedures and disciplinary processes in line with G4S human resources guidelines and Ugandan labor laws.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
● Education: A University Degree or Higher Diploma in Business Administration, Logistics, Security Management, or a closely related field.
● Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in high-risk logistics, military, police, or private security operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
● Industry Specifics: Proven background in Cash in Transit (CIT), ATM operations, or bank vault management is highly advantageous.
● Resident of Gulu or Flexible relocation is highly required
Technical & Behavioral Skills
● Financial Acumen: Strong capability in managing P&L statements, operational cost controls, and budget tracking.
● Crisis Management: Decisive leader under high-stress conditions, with exceptional conflict resolution skills.
● Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems, GPS tracking software, and intermediate skills in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.
● Integrity: Flawless professional record with the ability to pass rigorous background, financial, and criminal screening.
