JOB PURPOSE
The Management Trainee is a structured entry-level rotational role at TATTU Management Consultancy, designed to develop the next generation of management consultants. The incumbent will rotate across TATTU's core practice areas of Strategy, HR & Organizational Development, Business Development, and Operations, gaining hands-on exposure to client engagements, analytical frameworks, and project delivery. The role is performance-driven, with progression to a substantive Consultant role tied to demonstrated competencies and KPI achievement.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Consulting & Client Engagement Support
• Assist Senior Consultants in scoping, planning, and executing consulting assignments across client organizations.
• Conduct desk research, stakeholder interviews, and data collection to support client diagnostic and needs-assessment phases.
• Prepare client-facing presentations, reports, proposals, and workshop materials to professional consultancy standards.
• Participate in client meetings and take structured notes, tracking action items and follow-up deliverables.
• Support the facilitation of workshops, training sessions, and strategy retreats for client organizations.
Strategy & Organizational Development
• Assist in developing strategic plans, organizational restructuring proposals, HR frameworks, and policy documents for clients.
• Conduct job analysis, competency mapping, and compensation benchmarking assignments under supervision.
• Support performance management design projects, including KPI frameworks, appraisal tools, and scorecard development.
• Research and synthesize best-practice models in organizational design, change management, and talent development.
Business Development Support
• Assist in the preparation of capability statements, EOIs (Expressions of Interest), and formal proposals in response to client briefs.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify business opportunities for TATTU.
• Maintain and update the firm's CRM tracker, including monitoring leads, proposals in the pipeline, and conversion outcomes.
• Support networking activities, sector events, and outreach initiatives under the direction of the BD Lead.
Research, Analysis & Knowledge Management
• Perform quantitative and qualitative research using primary and secondary data sources to inform consulting deliverables.
• Contribute to TATTU's internal knowledge base by drafting thought leadership articles, sector briefs, and case study summaries.
• Maintain project files, client documentation, and engagement trackers in an organized and retrievable manner.
• Benchmark sector trends, policy developments, and regional management practices relevant to client assignments.
Internal Operations & Professional Development
• Participate actively in all trainee learning and development sessions, masterclasses, and mentorship programmes.
• Complete quarterly rotation assessments, maintaining a personal learning portfolio and reflective journal.
• Adhere to TATTU's quality standards, code of conduct, and client confidentiality protocols at all times.
• Contribute to internal firm initiatives, including process improvement, firm culture, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree (minimum Second Class Upper) in Business Administration, Economics, Management, Social Sciences, HR, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• 0 – 2 years of work experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Prior internship experience in a consulting, corporate, or NGO environment is an added advantage.
• Demonstrated academic or professional interest in management, strategy, or organizational development.
• Strong command of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with data analysis tools (SPSS, Excel) is a plus.
• Demonstrated written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, structured, professional documents.
