This position requires flexibility to work across modern trade, informal markets, wholesale, corporate accounts, route sales, hotels, restaurants, and cafés.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Market Development
- Drive product sales within HORECA outlets and other assigned trade channels.
- Identify and open new markets while maintaining and growing existing accounts.
- Promote new and existing products to customers to increase sales volumes.
- Plan and execute regular market visits and route schedules.
- Negotiate product placement, pricing, and promotions with customers.
Target Achievement
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets.
- Ensure agreed distribution and visibility targets are met.
- Monitor performance and take corrective action where necessary.
Invoicing & Compliance
- Generate accurate invoices using the URA Invoice Generator.
- Ensure all transactions comply with company policies and tax requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and submit required sales reports on time.
Payments & Collections
- Receive customer payments including cheques and mobile money.
- Follow up on outstanding balances to ensure timely collections.
- Reconcile payments against invoices and maintain accurate records.
- Safeguard company funds and remit collections promptly.
Reporting & Market Feedback
- Provide regular updates on sales performance and market activity.
- Monitor competitor activity and share relevant feedback.
- Highlight customer needs and opportunities for growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is an added advantage.
- Previous experience in sales, preferably in HORECA, FMCG, wholesale, or general trade.
- Experience using invoicing systems; familiarity with the URA Invoice Generator is an advantage.
- Must have good computer skills, including the ability to use invoicing systems, email, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good spoken and written English is required.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer segments.
- High level of integrity, especially in handling payments and collections.
- Ability to drive or ride (with a valid permit) is an added advantage.
Work Expectations: This is a field-based role that requires flexibility and availability during peak business periods.
Leave or time off during high sales periods (such as religious festivals, back-to-school seasons, and other peak trading periods) will generally not be approved except in exceptional circumstances.
