This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the digital presence of a multifaceted organization operating in both the creative and non-profit sectors in Uganda. The successful candidate will manage and grow social media channels for a printing, branding, studio, and video business, as well as a youth policy think tank. The position requires a creative professional who can develop compelling content, including animations and explainer videos, to engage diverse audiences and communicate impactful policy and youth-focused initiatives. The role is hybrid, based in Kirinya, and is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling, branding, and youth empowerment.
Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute social media strategies tailored to both commercial and non-profit objectives
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across multiple platforms, including animations, explainer videos, and branded visuals
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand identity
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics to optimize engagement and reach
  • Engage with online communities, respond to comments, and foster positive interactions
  • Support branding initiatives and campaigns for both business and non-profit arms
  • Communicate complex policy and youth-focused topics in accessible, creative formats
  • Stay updated on social media trends and best practices relevant to the Ugandan context
  • Travel as needed to capture content and support on-site activities

Skills And Requirements

  • Proven experience managing social media for organizations in both commercial and non-profit sectors
  • Strong content creation skills, including graphic design, animation, and video editing
  • Proficiency with social media management tools and analytics platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to translate policy and technical information into engaging, youth-friendly content
  • Knowledge of branding principles and experience supporting brand development
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, with willingness to travel to Kirinya and other locations as required
  • Familiarity with the Ugandan social media landscape and youth policy issues is highly desirable
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
