The System Administrator will assist in the daily operations of one of the company's business segments, Public WIFI networks, ensuring high performance, connectivity, and security. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in networking concepts and a desire to grow into a senior engineering position. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Hardware Setup: Install, configure, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
  • Monitoring: Use tools like SolarWinds, Wireshark, or PRTG to monitor network health, bandwidth, and uptime.
  • Troubleshooting: Resolve basic connectivity issues, identify hardware faults, and escalate complex problems to senior staff.
  • Security & Patching: Assist with firmware updates, security patches, and maintaining firewall rules to protect against unauthorised access.
  • User Support: Manage user accounts, permissions, and IP addresses; provide second-level technical support for networking-related tickets.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate network diagrams, IP schemas, and change logs. 

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s or associate degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.
  • Certifications (Highly Preferred for 2025):
o CompTIA Network+: Validates vendor-neutral networking skills.
o Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA): The benchmark for Cisco-centric environments.
o Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST): A new entry-level option for 2025 for those starting the Cisco track.

  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical staff.
