Key Responsibilities
- Install GPS tracking devices in vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other assets) following company standards.
- Test devices after installation to confirm signal strength, data accuracy, and connectivity.
- Diagnose and repair faulty or damaged GPS units.
- Perform routine maintenance and firmware updates on installed tracking systems.
- Document installations, inspections, and repairs in the company’s tracking database or mobile app.
- Coordinate daily schedules with the operations or dispatch team for site visits.
- Maintain proper toolkits, wiring equipment, and installation consumables.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards during all installations.
Requirements
- Education: Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automotive Mechanics, or related field.
- Experience: At least 1–2 years in GPS installation, car alarm systems, or vehicle electronics.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of vehicle wiring, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with different GPS tracker models and software platforms.
- Attention to detail, good manual dexterity, and time management.
- Basic computer or mobile app literacy (for updates and reporting).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork.
Working Conditions
- Field-based role with travel to customer sites and vehicle yards.
- May require weekend or after-hour installations based on client needs.
