Technical Services Supervisor
Job summary
This position is responsible for all technical services matters at camp level from front of house (FOH) to back of house (BOH) including overseeing all technical works related to repair and maintenance of equipment, buildings, vehicles, tents, machineries, furniture, pumps, generators, solar systems, boats, and any other facilities which constitute the camp set up.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Ensure timely implementation of periodic, planned, preventive, and corrective maintenance for the camp and prepare relevant reports/records.
- Plan, supervise, and participate (hands-on whenever necessary) in daily maintenance of all technical issues in the camp, including vehicles, generators, laundry and kitchen equipment, water pumps, buildings/tents structures, solar systems, and any other facilities which constitute the camp set up.
- Manage the maintenance team.
- Report on any abnormalities of equipment, assets, machinery, sewage systems, plumbing, and any other issues of a technical nature.
- Prepare technical reports on equipment, systems, buildings, structures, and utility status.
- Prepare simple technical drawings for elaboration on different technical matters.
- Compile and keep records of camp reports on asset-related matters.
- Assist camp management on utility reports and report any abnormalities.
- Drive company vehicles where necessary.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by camp management.
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience
- Relevant qualification and technical certification (s)
- Valid driving licence
- Working knowledge and understanding of the safari industry is preferred
- Meticulous attention to detail as well as a learning mindset
- Good communication skills, a service delivery mindset, and a strong customer service focus
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Teamwork
- Willingness to be based in a remote camp for extended periods of time
- Applicants must have proven experience working in safari operations and lodge services, with a strong understanding of guest hospitality standards, wildlife tourism activities, and day-to-day lodge management procedures.
