Job Summary
The EHSS Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, safety, and security policies and procedures to ensure full legal compliance and a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Environmental Management
- Ensure compliance with local environmental laws and regulations
- Monitor waste management, emissions, and environmental impact
- Implement sustainability and environmental improvement programs
- Maintain environmental permits and reporting documentation
🔹 Health & Safety
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification
- Lead accident/incident investigations and corrective actions
- Ensure proper use of PPE
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
- Organize fire drills and emergency response planning
- Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks
🔹 Security Management
- Develop and implement site security procedures
- Supervise security personnel and access control systems
- Conduct security risk assessments
- Investigate security incidents
- Ensure asset protection and emergency preparedness
🔹 Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with OSHA or relevant regulatory standards
- Maintain safety records and compliance documentation
- Prepare monthly HSE reports
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and auditors
🔹 Culture & Leadership
- Promote a safety-first culture
- Advise management on risk mitigation strategies
- Participate in management meetings regarding compliance and risk
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
Certifications (Highly Preferred):
- NEBOSH
- IOSH
- OSHA certification
- First Aid & Fire Safety Certification
- ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 knowledge
