Assistant Technical Manager — Electronic Security Systems
Job summary
Support the Technical Manager in planning, deploying, maintaining, company-wide electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, intercoms, perimeter systems, alarm monitoring) and integrated IT infrastructure. Lead day-to-day technical operations, manage projects, customers and vendors
Job descriptions & requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Security Technology, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years hands-on experience with electronic security systems, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Proven expertise with CCTV/VMS, IP camera technologies, access control platforms, intrusion detection systems, and alarm monitoring.
- Strong understanding of structured cabling, PoE, power systems (UPS, DC power), grounding, and basic electrical safety.
- Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, PoE, firewall rules relevant to video and access control, Time & attendance systems
- Experience integrating security systems with IT infrastructure.
- VMS, Access Control, and Time & Attendance Software solutions experience
- Experience with cloud-managed security platforms and hybrid on-prem/cloud architectures is a plus.
- Familiarity with evidence handling, video forensics tools, and digital privacy considerations
- Oversee installation, configuration, commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades of CCTV/video management systems (VMS), IP cameras, NVR/DVR, access control systems, biometric readers, intruder alarm panels, motion sensors, perimeter detection, intercoms, and related hardware.
- Manage integration between electronic security systems and IT systems (networking, directory services, building management systems).
- Lead fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance programs, and hardware spares inventory.
- Oversee security system monitoring, event correlation, alarm escalation, and incident response workflows; coordinate with physical security and SOC teams.
- Manage vendor relationships, installation contractors, and service providers; evaluate proposals, enforce SLAs, and supervise onsite work.
- Plan and execute projects: requirements, design, cabling and power coordination, testing, commissioning, documentation, and handover.
- Maintain technical documentation, wiring diagrams, network maps, runbooks, change logs, and system schematics.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., CCTV privacy laws, data protection, local fire/safety).
- Supervise, mentor, and assign work to technicians and field engineers; coordinate training and competency development.
- Provide after-hours/on-call support for critical incidents and major maintenance windows.
