Shop Manager Job Brief.
We are looking for a result-driven Retail Shop Manager to be responsible for the overall Shop management of our shops located in the Central, Eastern, Western, and Northern Regions of Uganda. The successful candidate will be able to enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals, and manage staff effectively.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Managing and overseeing shop operations, developing a routine for opening and closing, ensuring efficient functioning of the shop, managing the sales floor, and providing maximum profitability.
- Ensuring all staff adhere to safety standards, company policies, and procedures
- Managing and accounting for all money-handling procedures.
- Ordering, recording, and managing inventory.
- Ensuring the shop is adequately stocked, clean, and visually appealing.
- Motivating employees to reach sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
- Enforcing exceptional customer service, setting criteria for staff, establishing security and safety measures, creating emergency and lock-down strategy and ensuring health and safety compliance.
- Managing loss prevention through security requirements and monitoring strategies, auditing paperwork and inventory levels and appropriately handling broken or damaged merchandise.
- Handling customer complaints.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Retail Operations experience including: sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.
- Strong Computer skills: POS Systems and Microsoft Office, Math Skills Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
- Good presentation skills, and high proficiency in both spoken and written English.
- A technical junkie personality with a passion for handsets and devices.
- Thorough understanding of the company’s products and/or services, and those of immediate competitors in the surrounding market.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field; OR
- Minimum 2 years experience in mobile handsets and devices
