About the Role

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical distribution and healthcare solutions company, is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive business growth and market expansion across Uganda. We're looking for a commercially driven professional with strong experience in pharmaceuticals, consumer health, consumables, and/or medical devices, with a strong focus on key account management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving ambitious sales targets while building and managing strategic relationships across the healthcare sector.


Key Responsibilities

• Drive achievement of sales targets across assigned product portfolios and territories 

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans for sustainable market growth in Uganda 

• Manage and grow key accounts across the healthcare ecosystem 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with: 

o Retail pharmacies 

o Clinics and healthcare providers 

o Institutional clients (public and private hospitals) 

• Lead key account management strategies to ensure retention, growth, and customer satisfaction 

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical, consumer health, and medical device sectors 

• Strengthen distributor and strategic partner relationships 

• Drive market penetration for consumables and healthcare products 

• Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform sales decisions 

• Prepare sales forecasts, performance reports, and account reviews 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, marketing, and regulatory affairs 


Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Marketing, Medical Sciences, or related field 

• 8–10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales 

• Strong experience in one or more of the following: 

o Pharmaceutical products 

o Consumer health (OTC) products 

o Medical consumables 

o Medical devices 

• Proven experience in key account management (KAM) within the pharma sectors 

• Strong track record of achieving sales targets and managing large customer portfolios 

• Experience managing retail, institutional, and hospital sales channels 

• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills 

• Solid understanding of the Uganda pharmaceutical and healthcare market

• Established Pharmaceutical industry network in Uganda 

• Results-driven, self-motivated, and highly accountable 

• Strong stakeholder and relationship management capability
