About Price Media
Price Media is a Uganda-based agency that helps organisations communicate, market and grow. Our services include video production, social media management, website design, corporate training and sales consulting. We are looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) who can contribute meaningfully to the team by finding suitable clients, starting productive conversations, and helping turn qualified opportunities into signed work.

Role summary
You will manage the day-to-day work of building a sales pipeline: researching prospects, reaching out, understanding their needs, following up, and moving opportunities forward. You will also help prepare proposals, discuss them with prospects and work towards closing deals.

You will work closely with the Head of Business, particularly on opportunities that need specialist input, a tailored solution, or approval of pricing and terms. This role suits someone who enjoys consistent sales activity, takes good notes, follows through, and wants to develop into a capable consultative seller.

Key responsibilities
1. Find and assess prospects
  • Use Price Media’s ideal customer profiles to identify organisations and decision-makers who may benefit from our services.
  • Research each prospect enough to make outreach relevant.
  • Build and maintain accurate prospect lists, including contact details, service fit and useful context.
  • Prioritise prospects based on fit, likely need, and readiness to engage.

2. Start sales conversations
  • Reach out through appropriate channels, including calls, email, LinkedIn, referrals and networking.
  • Use the relevant sales guide as a starting point while adapting your approach to each prospect.
  • Explain Price Media’s offers clearly and confidently without making promises we cannot deliver.
  • Follow up consistently and respectfully with prospects who have not yet made a decision.

3. Discover needs and qualify opportunities
  • Ask questions to understand the prospect’s goals, current challenges, decision process, timing, and available budget.
  • Determine whether there is a good fit between their needs and a Price Media offer.
  • Record what you learn so the next conversation is informed and useful.
  • Book qualified meetings with the Head of Business or relevant team member when their expertise is needed.

4. Develop proposals and support closing
  • Turn discovery notes into clear proposal briefs and, where appropriate, prepare first drafts of proposals and quotations.
  • Coordinate input from the Head of Business and delivery team to confirm scope, timelines, pricing and feasibility.
  • Present or talk through approved proposals with prospects.
  • Respond to questions, address objections and negotiate within agreed limits.
  • Follow up until the prospect makes a decision, and complete the steps needed to secure approved deals.
  • Hand over signed work with a clear record of the client’s expectations and commitments.

5. Maintain the pipeline and improve the sales process
  • Keep the pipeline tracker current, with accurate notes, next actions, dates, and opportunity stages.
  • Review stalled opportunities and plan appropriate follow-up.
  • Share recurring prospect questions, objections and market insights.
  • Suggest improvements to sales guides, messages and offers based on what you learn in conversations.

What a typical week may include
  • Reviewing your pipeline and planning the next action for each active opportunity.
  • Researching new prospects that match one or more ideal customer profiles.
  • Making calls, sending tailored outreach messages, and following up.
  • Holding discovery conversations and booking qualified meetings.
  • Preparing proposal briefs or drafts, discussing approved proposals and progressing decisions.
  • Updating the pipeline tracker and reviewing results with the Head of Business.

The exact mix will change as opportunities move through the sales process. The expectation is steady prospecting alongside careful follow-through on active deals.

Essential requirements
  • Clear spoken and written communication.
  • Confidence starting conversations with new people and asking thoughtful questions.
  • Strong organisation and the discipline to keep records and follow up on time.
  • The ability to learn Price Media’s services and explain them accurately.
  • Sound judgement about when to seek input or approval.
  • Comfort using spreadsheets, email, online meeting tools and other everyday work tools.
  • A willingness to receive feedback, practise and improve.

Useful experience
The following would be an advantage, but you do not need all of them:
  • Experience in B2B sales, business development, customer service or account management.
  • Selling professional services to organisations.
  • Conducting discovery calls or preparing proposals.
  • Working with a pipeline tracker or CRM.
  • Familiarity with marketing, media production, websites, training or consulting.

Skills you can develop in the role
You will be supported to learn Price Media’s offers, ideal customer profiles and sales guides. You can also develop your skills in consultative selling, proposal writing, handling objections, negotiating within agreed limits, and managing opportunities through to close.

Performance measures
Performance will be reviewed using a balanced set of measures, including:
  • Quality and consistency of prospect research and outreach.
  • Number of relevant sales conversations started.
  • Qualified meetings booked and attended.
  • Quality of discovery notes and proposal briefs.
  • Proposals submitted and followed up.
  • Opportunities progressed, and deals closed.
  • Accuracy of pipeline records and timely completion of next actions.
  • Quality of client handovers.

Targets will be agreed based on the offers being sold, the available market, and what the sales process shows over time. Activity matters, but the role will also be assessed on the quality of opportunities and the care taken with prospects and clients.

Reporting and support
You will report to the Head of Business or a designated sales lead. You will have access to product documentation, offer information, ideal customer profiles and sales guides. Regular pipeline reviews and feedback will help you prioritise opportunities, improve your approach and get support on complex deals.

Growth opportunity
As you become confident across Price Media’s offers and demonstrate that you can manage opportunities well, there may be scope to take greater ownership of client relationships, larger deals, particular service lines or parts of the sales process.
