Job Summary
The Production Data Clerk / Production Statistician will collect, check, record, and report daily factory production data. Accuracy is critical because the records support inventory control, material consumption analysis, production planning, and cost calculation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect daily production data from production machines and departments.
- Record raw materials issued and consumed for each production order.
- Record production quantities, good products, rejected products, scrap, and production losses.
- Check actual production quantities against production orders and targets.
- Verify that production records are complete and accurate before data entry.
- Accurately and promptly enter production data into the company's ERP/computer system.
- Track production progress and identify incomplete production orders.
- Compare raw material consumption with actual output and identify abnormal differences.
- Maintain accurate records of production orders, materials, finished products, rejects, scrap and losses.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
- Immediately report missing, incorrect, inconsistent or abnormal data to the Production Manager.
- Work with production supervisors, warehouse staff and management to verify questionable data.
- Maintain proper filing and confidentiality of production records.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, Industrial Management, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Previous experience in factory production data, inventory management, warehouse records, accounting, or statistics is preferred.
- Strong numerical ability and excellent attention to detail.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills.
- Comfortable working with ERP or computerized data-entry systems.
- Able to identify errors and inconsistencies rather than copy figures.
- Honest, careful, disciplined, responsible, and well-organized.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Willing to work in a factory environment.
Important Requirement
This role requires a very high level of accuracy and responsibility. The successful candidate must carefully check production figures and immediately investigate or report errors, missing information, or abnormal differences. Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete a basic Excel, mathematics and data-accuracy test.
