We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Sales & Business Development Executive to drive institutional customer acquisition, strengthen healthcare partnerships, and grow recurring revenue streams through strategic engagement with hospitals, clinics, and procurement organizations
Role Objective
The Medical Sales & Business Development Executive will be responsible for expanding CLF Medical’s B2B customer base by building strong relationships with healthcare decision-makers, managing institutional sales pipelines, and successfully navigating private hospital procurement processes and public sector tender opportunities through Uganda’s electronic procurement ecosystem.
This role is highly field-oriented, requiring strong relationship-building skills, medical product understanding, and the ability to translate clinical requirements into practical healthcare solutions.
Key Responsibilities1. Field-Based Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Spend approximately 70% of working time in the field engaging hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and healthcare institutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with:
- Hospital procurement managers
- Medical directors
- Clinic owners
- Laboratory managers
- Nursing and clinical leadership teams
- Healthcare administrators
- Develop a strong institutional sales pipeline across Uganda and key regional healthcare hubs.
- Identify new business opportunities and convert prospects into long-term customers.
2. Medical Product Demonstrations & Technical Sales Presentations
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations for healthcare professionals and procurement teams.
- Understand customer clinical requirements and recommend appropriate medical solutions.
- Present CLF Medical’s portfolio, including solutions across areas such as:
- Respiratory care
- Diagnostic equipment
- Medical devices
- Healthcare consumables
- Other clinical solutions
- Work closely with technical teams and suppliers to provide accurate product information and support customer decision-making.
3. Consumables Sales & Account Growth
- Develop recurring revenue channels through regular supply agreements with healthcare facilities.
- Establish monthly ordering schedules for medical consumables and frequently used healthcare products.
- Monitor customer consumption patterns and anticipate future supply requirements.
- Maintain strong post-sale relationships to encourage repeat business and customer retention.
4. Tender & Institutional Procurement Management
- Identify and monitor upcoming procurement opportunities from:
- Private hospitals
- Healthcare networks
- Government institutions
- NGOs and development organizations
- Support preparation of technical and commercial responses for institutional bids and public procurement opportunities.
- Navigate Uganda’s electronic procurement platforms and tender processes.
- Coordinate internally to ensure timely submission of compliant proposals.
5. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Gather market insights through regular field engagement with healthcare providers.
- Monitor:
- Hospital inventory levels
- Product demand trends
- Competitor activities
- Pricing movements
- Upcoming procurement requirements
- Provide feedback to management to support product strategy and business growth.
Job RequirementsEducation
A Diploma or Degree in one of the following fields:
- Biomedical Engineering
- Clinical Medicine
- Nursing
- Medical Laboratory Science
- Healthcare Management
- Business Administration, Sales, or related fields with strong medical product knowledge
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of successful B2B sales experience within the Ugandan healthcare sector.
- Proven experience selling:
- Medical equipment
- Healthcare technology solutions
- Medical consumables
- Diagnostic products
- Hospital supplies
- Demonstrated ability to manage institutional customers and achieve sales targets.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of healthcare procurement processes in Uganda.
- Ability to communicate technical medical information to both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently in a field-based role.
- Strong commercial mindset with focus on revenue growth and customer retention.
- Good knowledge of hospital operations and healthcare decision-making structures.
Network Requirements
The ideal candidate should:
- Have an existing and verifiable network within Uganda’s healthcare sector.
- Maintain relationships with hospital procurement teams, healthcare administrators, and clinical decision-makers.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop strategic institutional partnerships.
