Job summary

Uzima Microfinance is a fast-growing financial institution committed to empowering communities through access to affordable financial services. We are seeking a proactive, self-driven, and ethical individual to join our team as a Trainee Branch Manager in the Eastern Region of Uganda.

Job descriptions & requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily branch operations and ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Support achievement of targets in customer acquisition, retention, and quality loan portfolio growth.
  • Monitor loan portfolio quality, repayments, and recovery of overdue loans.
  • Supervise, coach, and support branch staff to achieve their targets.
  • Prepare and submit accurate MIS, financial, and operational reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Uzima policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote excellent customer service and strong client relationships.
  • Ensure proper handling, banking, reconciliation, and accountability of branch funds.
  • Facilitate branch meetings, staff performance reviews, and business development activities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in microfinance, banking, credit, sales, or financial services is an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of credit management, savings mobilization, and loan recovery.
  • Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and customer service skills.
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Willingness to work in the field and travel when required.
  • Age: 36 years and below.
  • All Interviews will be conducted at the Mbale Regional offices
