About the Opportunity
Swangz Avenue is Africa’s leading creative ecosystem and full service agency. The Swangz Creative Academy was launched to bridge the gap between passion and professional skill, offering practical, high impact training in audio production, film, video editing, event management, and digital media.
Having established strong brand credibility and market presence, we are now seeking an entrepreneurial Business Unit Manager to run the Academy as an independent, high growth business unit.
This is not a traditional academic or administrative role. You will act as the commercial lead and business strategist, taking full ownership of top and bottom line financial performance (P&L), commercial growth, course packaging, sales engines, and strategic institutional partnerships.
What you will do
- Take full P&L accountability driving top line tuition revenue, managing operating budgets, and optimizing profit margins across all training programs.
- Package, price, and scale high margin offerings, including short courses, executive corporate workshops, weekend intensives, and custom B2B training modules.
- Establish predictable B2C lead generation funnels, conversion routines, and admissions pipelines.
- Prospect, negotiate, and close corporate training deals, NGO/embassy and B2B alignments.
- Direct a lean core team (supported by an Operations & Admissions Coordinator) while leveraging Swangz Avenue’s world class facilities, brand clout, and industry network.
- Financial Oversight and P&L: Manage program budgets, track tuition collections, negotiate tutor compensation, and optimize operational margins.
Who We Are Looking For
- Proven experience owning a revenue target, unit budget, or P&L statement in a business development, training, media, corporate service, or entrepreneurial setting.
- Strong track record in sales funnel execution, product pricing, packaging, and B2B deal closing.
- Hands on leader capable of building structure, establishing dashboards, and scaling a business unit in a lean environment.
Note: You do not need to be a filmmaker or creative artist. A background in business administration, strategic marketing, commerce, or entrepreneurial growth is key.
