Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, splice, and test fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode).
- Perform fusion splicing on aerial, underground, and indoor fiber optic cables.
- Conduct OTDR, Optical Power Meter, and Visual Fault Locator (VFL) testing.
- Troubleshoot fiber optic faults and restore services within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Install and maintain fiber distribution panels (FDPs), optical distribution frames (ODFs), and joint closures.
- Install customer premises equipment (CPE), media converters, switches, routers, and wireless devices where applicable.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on network infrastructure.
- Conduct site surveys and prepare technical reports and as-built documentation.
- Coordinate with the Network Operations Centre (NOC) during planned maintenance and fault resolution.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards while working in the field.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and inventory usage.
- Support network expansion projects and customer installations.
