Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Teach, examine and grade students;
2. Supervise research for students;
3. Mentor junior staff;
4. Conduct research and community outreach activities;
5. Write proposals for attracting funding to the department;
6. Perform any other official duties as assigned by the Head of Department
Required Qualifications
Qualifications
i) PhD in Geography, Environmental Geography, Meteorology, Climate Science/Atmospheric Science, Environmental Sciences and/or Management;
ii) A Master’s Degree in Geography, Environmental Geography, Meteorology, Climate Sciences, GIS Science and Earth Observation; Environmental Sciences and/or Management;
iii) A Minimum of an Upper Second Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology or a Postgraduate Diploma in Meteorology;
iv) Strong methodological competencies in Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis, Geo-Statistics, Applied Statistics and Biometry, Climate Modeling, Spatial Analytical Tools, Programming, Systems Thinking and Modeling, is an added advantage.
