1. Job Purpose
To provide effective operational and administrative HR support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring consistent implementation of HR policies, employee engagement initiatives, HR processes and people practices that support organisational performance within the agroprocessing environment.
2. Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Engagement
• Support employee engagement, welfare and workplace culture initiatives.
• Respond to employee queries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
• Support investigation, documentation and resolution of employee relations matters.
• Promote a positive, respectful and inclusive work environment.
HR Operations & Administration
• Maintain accurate employee records, HR files and HRIS information.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, induction and employee lifecycle administration.
• Administer leave, attendance and time-management processes.
• Prepare routine HR reports and track key HR metrics.
Performance Management
• Support the performance management cycle, including goal setting, reviews and documentation.
• Work with managers to ensure timely performance evaluations and development plans.
Learning & Development
• Coordinate training and development activities.
• Support identification of training needs and assist with learning programmes.
Policy, Compliance & Advisory
• Support adherence to applicable labour laws, HR policies and procedures.
• Maintain statutory and HR records and support HR audits.
• Provide basic HR guidance to managers and employees, escalating complex matters appropriately.
HR Projects & Initiatives
• Support implementation of HR projects and initiatives, including employee engagement and organisational development activities.
• Provide administrative and coordination support to the wider HR team.
3. Qualifications, Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in agroprocessing, manufacturing, FMCG or a similar operational environment.
• Good working knowledge of Ugandan labour laws and HR best practices.
• Experience supporting employee engagement, HR operations and performance management processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS/HR management systems.
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Team player with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
