Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership
- Collaborate with senior leaders to translate business goals into actionable HR plans.
- Use workforce analytics to identify trends and support organizational design and change management.
- Lead succession planning and skills gap analysis for both frontline and management roles.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment for security personnel (guards, patrol officers, control room operators) and office staff.
- Coordinate background checks, security vetting, and reference verification.
- Ensure timely onboarding and induction to reduce time‑to‑productivity.
Employee Relations & Industrial Harmony
- Serve as the primary advisor on disciplinary cases, grievances, and conflict resolution.
- Conduct investigations and ensure fair, consistent application of company policies.
- Represent the company in labour disputes and engagements with trade unions.
Performance Management & Development
- Oversee the annual performance review cycle, ensuring goal alignment and fair evaluation.
- Support managers in identifying high‑potential employees and creating individual development plans.
- Drive a culture of continuous feedback and coaching.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Design and implement engagement initiatives (awards, team building, wellness programmes) to boost morale.
- Analyse employee satisfaction survey results and propose actionable improvements.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across the workforce.
Payroll & HR Operations
- Prepare and verify monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and alignment with attendance and deployment records.
- Maintain complete and confidential employee files, from hire to exit.
- Ensure HR databases are updated and compliant with data protection standards.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Monitor adherence to the Uganda Employment Act, 2006, and other relevant regulations.
- Identify HR‑related risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Regularly audit HR processes and policies for effectiveness and legality.
Reporting & Analytics
- Produce monthly HR dashboards (headcount, turnover, absenteeism, case resolution times).
- Provide data‑driven insights to support strategic decision‑making.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or professional HR certification (e.g., from IHRS, CIPD, SHRM) is an added advantage.
- Valid practising certificate from the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRS) Uganda.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior HRBP or generalist role.
- Proven experience in the security, logistics, or labour‑intensive industries is highly preferred.
- Track record of managing high‑volume recruitment and handling complex employee relations cases.
