Role Description The Team Leader – Nakawa will oversee daily operations and team performance at the Kampala on-site location, ensuring efficient delivery of international trade finance services. This full-time role includes coordinating tasks, setting priorities, and monitoring progress to meet service targets and client expectations. The Team Leader will guide, mentor, and support team members, conduct regular meetings, and foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment. Responsibilities also include handling key client inquiries, preparing reports on team performance, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and liaising with management to implement process improvements. The role requires proactive problem-solving, consistent communication, and hands-on involvement in operational workflows.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, including coaching, performance monitoring, and conflict resolution.
- Strong knowledge or experience in finance, banking, or international trade, with the ability to understand trade finance processes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- Organizational and time management skills, including prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple projects.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Proficiency with common office software and digital tools; familiarity with financial or trade-related systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Kampala and adapt to a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role is highly beneficial.
