Purpose of the Position:
The Supervisor is a key staff to Spytech International. He/she is responsible for overseeing a team of security guards, ensuring the safety and security of assigned premises by patrolling, monitoring surveillance systems, managing access control, responding to incidents, conducting regular security checks, and ensuring all security procedures are followed according to company policy, while reporting directly to a Security Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operational Supervision and Deployment
• Ensure that all security personnel perform their duties in accordance with company standards, contractual obligations, and operational requirements.
• Confirm that guards report on time for their shifts, are properly deployed, and maintain professional conduct at all times.
• Create and manage duty rosters to guarantee adequate coverage, including rotation for 24-hour operations.
• Oversee daily security activities, including patrols, access control, surveillance monitoring, and protection of property and personnel.
• Conduct routine inspections of assigned premises to verify compliance with security procedures and operational effectiveness.
2. Training and Professional Development
• Ensure security personnel receive appropriate initial and ongoing training in security protocols, emergency response, customer care, and use of security equipment.
• Identify training gaps within the deployment area and coordinate refresher or on-site training sessions accordingly.
• Assess staff performance and provide constructive feedback to management on areas requiring improvement or additional training.
3. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
• Ensure strict compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety policies, and ethical standards.
• Ensure operations comply with the laws and regulations of the Republic of Uganda, including requirements set by the Uganda Police Force and relevant authorities.
• Verify that all deployed personnel possess the necessary licenses, certifications, and clearances as required by law.
4. Incident Management and Emergency Response
• Respond promptly and decisively to incidents such as security breaches, theft, fire outbreaks, accidents, or other emergencies.
• Take charge of emergencies, direct personnel effectively, and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services where necessary.
• Ensure all incidents are properly documented, reported to management, and followed up with appropriate corrective measures.
• Develop and maintain site-specific emergency response plans focused on safeguarding life, property, and assets.
5. Client Relations and Communication
• Serve as the primary liaison between the company and the client at the assigned site.
• Address client concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring that agreed service levels are consistently met.
• Handle complaints raised by clients or security personnel and implement appropriate resolutions to prevent escalation.
• Maintain positive client relationships to support business retention and growth.
6. Resource and Equipment Management
• Ensure security personnel are equipped with the necessary tools, including uniforms, communication devices, and other operational equipment.
• Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure functionality and accountability.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory and security systems.
7. Reporting and Documentation
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to management, highlighting
performance, incidents, staffing levels, and challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of deployments, inspections, incidents, and compliance documentation.
• Report regularly to senior management on operational performance and recommend improvements where necessary.
8. Risk Assessment and Operational Improvement
• Identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities within the assigned site.
• Implement preventive measures and recommend improvements to strengthen security operations.
• Make sound and timely decisions in high-pressure situations to ensure operational continuity and safety.
9. Staff Welfare and Retention
• Monitor the welfare, discipline, and morale of deployed security personnel.
• Promote professionalism, smart appearance, and adherence to company standards while on duty.
• Support staff retention efforts by addressing concerns promptly and fostering a positive working environment.
10. Recruitment and Staffing
• Participate in the recruitment and deployment of security personnel for the assigned site.
• Fill staffing gaps promptly to maintain required service levels.
Other Duties
Perform any other delegated responsibilities assigned by Line Management within the specified timeframe, provided such instructions are reasonable, safe, and within the scope of competence
