Job Description/Requirements
Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (12-Month Contract)
📍 Location: Remote (Uganda-Based)
📅 Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)
💼 Contract Type: Full-Time Contractor
💰 Compensation: Competitive and negotiable based on experience
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of key features across the platform
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and QA to ship stable, scalable features
- Maintain clean, modular, and testable code across backend and frontend
- Ensure seamless integrations between frontend (Next.js + React Native) and Laravel APIs
- Oversee deployments on AWS infrastructure and ensure best practices in DevOps
- Participate in architectural decisions, performance optimization, and security hardening
- Conduct peer code reviews and mentor junior developers
- Implement and maintain APIs
- Lead architecture decisions (API, authentication, database)
- Handle database design (MySQL, RDS)
- Review code and mentor junior developers
- Ensure best practices in DevOps and deployment
