Remuneration: TBA depending on candidate experience

Start date: October 2020 on wards

Place of work: Kampala, Uganda

Reporting to: Country manager in Uganda

Requirements: 5 years’ work experience managing operations in a high velocity sales environment. Experience in finance and credit preferable but not imperative.


About

Our client is a fast-growing financial technology company currently operating in Zambia, Tanzania and South Africa, with operations due to commence in Kampala, Uganda towards the end of 2020 and the start of 2021. The firm in Uganda will be delivering personal lending products from branch based channels, utilizing internally generated software and lending products backed by IT and data analytics teams based in South Africa.


The Role

We are looking for a candidate with operational management experience that will play a key role as part as the countries new management team. The role is focused on ensuring the smooth running of all the branch based lending operations and will include training and monitoring both customer facing branch staff as well as the back office call center and administration team. The ideal candidate must combine a variety of skills applicable to the industry, including customer service, problem solving and people management.


Responsibilities


  1. Management and strategy
    1. Serve as a member of the executive team and assist in the determination of company strategy

    2. Manage entire network of branch and staff members

    3. Make the company an adventurous and desirable place to work

    4. Contribute to growth of the company as a key player in the Ugandan microfinance industry


  1. Operational
    1. Manage the client services team alongside the branch managers

    2. Measure and enhance customer service

    3. Implement and monitor staff training and performance

    4. Assist the marketing team in the rollout of client acquisition initiatives

    5. Manage the operational HR function
