Head Teacher - Kindergarten

Position Overview
The Head Teacher is responsible for leading the kindergarten instructional program and fostering a positive, developmentally appropriate learning environment. This role combines teaching expertise, leadership, and program management to ensure that all children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and oversee a comprehensive, engaging kindergarten curriculum aligned with early childhood learning standards.
• Lead and mentor teaching staff, providing guidance, training, and ongoing professional development.
• Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that supports children’s social-emotional growth and individual learning needs.
• Monitor student progress through observation, assessment, and documentation; communicate regularly with families about student development.
• Collaborate with administrators to maintain licensing compliance, safety standards, and school policies.
• Coordinate classroom activities, schedules, and resources to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers, and the wider school community.
• Support and model positive behaviour strategies, conflict resolution, and classroom management techniques.
• Contribute to school events, planning meetings, and program improvement initiatives.
