The Eastern Africa Farmers Federation (EAFF) is seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to manage its policy and advocacy work and support the interests of farmer organisations across the region.

EDUCATION
Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Political Science, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE / PREFERENCE
At least five years’ experience in policy analysis, advocacy and policy-related programme management. NGO experience is an advantage. Ugandan nationals are encouraged to apply.

CONTRACT
Three-year renewable employment contract, with the possibility of extension.

START DATE
As soon as possible.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement EAFF’s policy and advocacy master plan.
  • Build the capacity of member organisations in policy and advocacy.
  • Implement programmes and projects related to policy and advocacy.
  • Represent EAFF at regional, continental and international policy events.
  • Contribute to fundraising through the development of new projects and programmes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • At least five years’ experience in policy analysis, advocacy and policy-related programme management.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural policy frameworks and farmer organisation dynamics.
  • Experience working with government institutions and multi-stakeholder platforms.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality policy briefs and reports.
