Job Description/Requirements
1. Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality ICT instruction aligned with UVTAB standards and to provide leadership, administration, and oversight for all ICT operations at Mazima CDI. The role ensures effective teaching, reliable ICT systems, proper technical support, secure digital environments, and well-coordinated departmental activities that support Mazima’s mission.
2. Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesA. Teaching & Student Training
- Deliver ICT lessons (theory and practical) according to the UVTAB curriculum and internal training standards.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools.
- Equip students with essential digital skills for internship and future employment.
- Conduct continuous assessments, track learner progress, and maintain accurate academic records.
- Provide student guidance, feedback, mentorship, and support throughout their training.
- Ensure classroom discipline, safety, and a positive learning environment.
B. Departmental Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and manage the ICT department, ensuring high performance and alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee departmental planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource needs.
- Supervise ICT operations, computer lab management, and system maintenance.
- Support the Vocational Training department with promotional activities in schools, churches, and communities.
- Participate in meetings, planning sessions, and organizational decision-making.
C. ICT Administration & Systems Management
- Manage and maintain all ICT systems, networks, and digital infrastructure across Mazima.
- Provide timely technical support to staff and students for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Evaluate, install, configure, and maintain software and hardware resources.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, access rights, and data protection protocols.
- Maintain secure backups, antivirus systems, and safe ICT usage practices.
- Monitor internet connectivity, system performance, and uptime.
- Document and update ICT procedures, configurations, logs, and security standards.
D. ICT Projects & Innovation
- Design, plan, and implement ICT projects to enhance operational efficiency and drive digital transformation.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
- Develop ICT policies, guidelines, and procedures for organizational use.
- Identify opportunities to enhance training quality and internal ICT operations.
- Provide expert advice on digital trends, technology procurement, and institutional ICT strategy.
E. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation for all ICT operations, systems, and student activities.
- Prepare and submit monthly departmental reports, including:
- System performance
- Inventory status
- Technical incidents and resolutions
- Student progress
- Departmental needs and recommendations
- Maintain an updated inventory of computers, accessories, software, and digital tools.

3. Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in ICT, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Teaching experience or training background in a vocational setting is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of ICT hardware, software, networking, and system administration.
