Job descriptions & requirements

1. IT Hardware Setup, Deployment, and User Support

  • Install, configure, and deploy computers, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Provide first-line and second-line technical support to staff.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-related issues.
  • Train users on basic IT systems and tools.
  • Maintain records of support requests and resolutions.

2. Network Setup, Configuration, and Support

  • Set up and maintain LAN, WAN, and internet connectivity.
  • Configure routers, switches, and access points.
  • Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Implement basic network security controls.
  • Coordinate with internet service providers and vendors.

3. IT Asset Management and Lifecycle Planning

  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT equipment and software.
  • Track asset allocation, usage, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Plan for upgrades, replacements, and end-of-life equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage and disposal of obsolete IT assets.

4. Procurement, Vendor Management, and Hardware Standards

  • Support procurement of IT equipment and software.
  • Evaluate suppliers and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with approved IT standards.
  • Manage warranties, service contracts, and vendor relationships.
  • Verify quality and specifications of delivered equipment.

5. Budgeting, Planning, and Reporting

  • Assist in preparing annual IT budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor IT-related expenditures.
  • Prepare periodic reports on assets, costs, and system performance.
  • Support planning for IT projects and infrastructure upgrades.

6. Collaboration, Documentation, and Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with departments to understand IT needs.
  • Maintain system documentation, manuals, and procedures.
  • Participate in IT audits and compliance activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Computer Science Information Systems or a related field Professional Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory) Any of the following will be an added advantage · CompTIA A+ / Network+ · Cisco CCNA (or equivalent networking certification) · Microsoft or other recognized IT support certifications 5–7 years hands-on experience in · IT hardware support and deployment · IT asset management and lifecycle tracking · Site-level network setup and support (LAN/Wi-Fi) · IT procurement and vendor management
