Job Title: Human Resource Officer
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Reports To: HR Manager
Job Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures in line with local labor laws and organizational standards.
· Manage the end-to-end recruitment process: job postings, shortlisting, interviewing, reference checks, and onboarding.
· Maintain employee records and ensure HR data is up-to-date and accurate.
· Facilitate training and development programs in collaboration with department heads.
· Administer employee compensation and benefits, ensuring statutory compliance (e.g., NSSF, PAYE).
· Support performance management processes and provide guidance to supervisors and staff.
· Promote employee relations initiatives, conflict resolution, and a positive workplace culture.
· Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
· Handle exit interviews and offboarding processes.
· Prepare HR reports and analytics for management decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
· A postgraduate diploma in HR or CHRP-U certification is an added advantage.
· Minimum of 5+ years' HR experience, preferably in a multi-cultural, dynamic environment.
· Strong knowledge of Ugandan labor laws and HR best practices.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
· High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; HRIS experience is an advantage.
