Nature of Position
The UNHCR FO Kyangwali manages refugee operations in a refugee settlement in Kyangwali that hosts 132,872 refugees and asylum seekers, of which 132,755 are refugees while 117 are Asylum seekers. 96% of the overall population is of Congolese Nationality from DRC, followed by South Sudanese (2.7%); other nationalities include Rwandese, Sudanese, Burundian, Somalis, Ethiopian, and Kenyan. Under the supervision of the Protection Officer, the incumbentâs primary role is to assist the office in coordinating GBV programming in the settlement and act as a technical assistant provider for SASA! Together-the evidence-based GBV prevention approach and trainer in GBVIMS and progress V4 SGBV Module. The incumbent should promote Protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) and ensure that systems are in place to respond to reported incidents of SEA. In addition, the incumbent shall strengthen compliance with protection standards through routine monitoring of protection interventions to ensure accountability to the affected population and should ensure systems are in place for responding to GBV incidents during emergencies.
