IDI Uganda is seeking a Finance Lead - Coordinator who will provide strategic oversight and policy leadership. This person will be responsible for; budgeting, donor reporting, audit handling, among others. A Bachelor's degree + CPA/ACCA training, with at least 7 years of working experience in a management position, are a must have.

Job descriptions & requirements

●      Oversee the entire financial operations of both field and Head Office teams under IDI’s financial policies and strategic direction.

●      Lead the planning and execution of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and reporting frameworks.

●      Review and approve financial reports, reconciliations, and major expenditures.

●      Ensure compliance with internal controls, donor requirements, and regulatory standards.

●      Represent the finance team in senior management meetings, external audits, or stakeholder engagements.

●      Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of coordinators and officers.

●      Manage risk, including timely identification of financial discrepancies or policy violations.

●      Approve changes or updates to financial processes and systems to improve efficiency.

●      Lead preparations for external and internal audits, ensuring full compliance and timely responses to findings.

●      Approve fund transfers, bank transactions, and high-value payments.

●      Ensure clear communication between finance and other departments or project teams.

●      Provide strategic input for organizational development based on financial insights.

●      Ensure team capacity building through regular training, feedback, and knowledge sharing.

●      Any other leadership duties assigned by Executive Management.


NGO work experience is highly prioritized for this role and position.
