Job Summary
SimplePay Capital is seeking motivated, detail-oriented, and goal-driven individuals to join our team as Credit Officers. The Credit Officer will be responsible for loan appraisal, customer onboarding, portfolio monitoring, and supporting collections, while ensuring full compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about finance, risk assessment, and customer service, and who are eager to grow within a dynamic financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Assessment & Loan Processing
• Receive, review, and assess loan applications in line with Company credit policies.
• Conduct credit appraisal, risk analysis, and recommend approval or rejection of loans.
• Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed.
Customer Due Diligence & KYC
• Perform comprehensive Know Your Customer (KYC) checks to verify client identity and eligibility.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Detect and flag potential fraud or suspicious transactions.
Loan Disbursement & Portfolio Monitoring
• Support timely and accurate loan disbursements once approvals are granted.
• Monitor loan performance and identify early warning signs of default.
• Work closely with Collections Officers to manage delinquent accounts.
Customer Engagement & Support
• Educate clients on loan terms, repayment schedules, and obligations.
• Maintain professional and positive relationships with clients to promote retention.
Reporting & Documentation
• Maintain accurate records of loan applications, approvals, disbursements, and repayments.
• Prepare and submit regular credit and portfolio performance reports to management.
Collaboration & Compliance
• Work closely with Branch Managers, Loans Officers, and Collections Officers.
• Adhere strictly to company policies, ethical standards, and operational procedures.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management related to credit operations.
Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum requirement: Certificate in a relevant field.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Fluency in English and Luganda (additional local languages are an advantage).
• Strong attention to detail with a risk-aware and analytical mindset.
• Target-driven, self-motivated, and proactive.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to relocate as required.
