The Accounts Assistant has a special role in implementing FCW's vision and mission. Working under the direction of the Accountant, the Accounts Assistant plays a key role in the organization. The Accounts Assistant will mainly assist the Accountant in the regular Finance Department operations and assist in administrative needs from time to time.

Purpose
The Accounts Assistant has a special role in implementing FCW's vision and mission.
Working under the direction of the Accountant, the Accounts Assistant plays a key role in the organization. The Accounts Assistant will mainly assist the Accountant in the regular Finance Department operations and assist in administrative needs from time to time.
Overall Responsibilities
- Enter data into the computer system using QuickBooks Online as follows: posting all cash payments, posting all mobile money payments, and making journal entries once accountabilities for cash payments have been submitted.
- Prepare and disburse petty cash payments
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., expense vouchers, receipts, and staff working advances)
- Verify the accuracy of accounting documents or records
- Reconcile records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers
- Record information and maintain an accurate and up-to-date filing system; update ledgers, researching and resolving discrepancies
- Respond appropriately to clients and internal requests
- Perform basic office tasks, including capturing minutes, answering phones, responding to emails, processing mail, and filing
- Any other duties may be assigned from time to time to ensure the accounting department runs smoothly.
Hours of work
Work hours will vary according to the program schedule, needs, and holidays; however, the accounts assistant will be expected to work a minimum of 5 days per week. This will occasionally include weekends and holidays as necessary for the program.
Candidate specifications
- A degree in Accounting and Finance or Commerce
- Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
- CPA/ACCA level 11 is a plus
- Experience using QuickBooks
