The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely processing of financial transactions at G4S Uganda. This role manages day-to-day ledger maintenance, tax compliance, cash flow forecasting, and supplier reconciliations while supporting internal controls and inventory management.

Job descriptions & requirements
Key Responsibilities
Financial Processing & Ledger Maintenance
● Process all payments ensuring they are backed by complete, accurate supporting
documentation.
● Capture ledger entry transactions accurately, including Journal Vouchers (JVs) and Cash Books
(CBs).
● Maintain an updated Prepayment schedule to ensure timely and accurate monthly amortizations.
● Reconcile all allocated Trial Balance (TB) ledger accounts to maintain data integrity.
● Execute monthly revaluation of foreign currency-supported ledgers based on prevailing exchange
rates.
Payables & Supplier Management
● Maintain an updated supplier ledger to ensure accurate account balances.
● Reconcile all supplier accounts to the subsidiary payables ledger to resolve variances.
● Perform monthly reconciliation of all corporate Insurance contracts.
● Manage and update the Workman’s Compensation schedule for compliance and audit readiness.
Cash Management & Tax Compliance
● Prepare monthly Projected cash flow forecasts to optimize working capital management.
● Manage monthly filing of taxes, with a specific focus on Withholding Tax (WHT) obligations in
Uganda.
● Handle the fiscalization of all Imported Services invoices in compliance with local tax
regulations.
Intercompany & Operational Support
● Conduct monthly reconciliation of all Intercompany invoices and balances.
● Support Stores management activities, assisting with inventory controls, stock counts, and
variance analysis.Key Requirements & Qualifications
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
● Professional Qualification: Progress toward or completion of ACCA or CPA Uganda is highly
desirable.
● Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a
multinational or fast-paced logistics/security sector.
● Skills: Proficiency in SAGE EVO is an added advantage and advanced MS Excel is a MUST. Strong
understanding of Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) tax laws.
