Job summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our beverage manufacturing company based in Jinja. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the company’s financial operations, maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial reports, analyzing financial and operational data, and ensuring compliance with internal accounting procedures. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, excellent data interpretation and analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial and accounting records.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports and reconciliations.
- Process and record payments, receipts, invoices, expenses, and other financial transactions.
- Perform bank, cash, supplier, customer, and inventory reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support management with timely and accurate financial information for decision-making.
- Assist in monitoring production costs, inventory movements, and other costs associated with beverage manufacturing.
- Support stock counts and ensure proper reconciliation between physical inventory and accounting records.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, financial controls, and relevant statutory requirements.
- Assist with audit preparation and provide required financial documentation.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform any other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, FMCG, or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Good data interpretation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and present clear insights to management.
- Good understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Experience with accounting software and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in a manufacturing production environment will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of inventory accounting and cost control.
- Ability to interpret large volumes of financial and operational data.
