Job summary
The Store Assistant is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing materials and supplies for the company. The role supports the Procurement Officer by managing stock verification, inventory control, and documentation, ensuring. Procurement can focus on sourcing and supplier management.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Receive goods and materials delivered by suppliers; verify against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Inspect quality and quantity of received items and report discrepancies to the Procurement Officer &
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including quantities, locations, and usage.
- Track stock levels and notify the Procurement Officer when replenishment is needed.
- Assist the Procurement Officer in coordinating deliveries and storage.
- Prepare and organise items for operational use or project distribution.
- Ensure all received materials are properly labelled, stored, and safeguarded.
- Support stock audits and reconciliations.
- Maintain proper records for all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Ensure compliance with company policies regarding stock handling, security, and reporting.
- Assist in providing documentation for audits or management reports.
- Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years in storekeeping, inventory management, or warehouse operations.
- Experience supporting procurement or operational teams is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of inventory software or Excel for record keeping.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and stock records.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
- Ability to track stock, anticipate shortages, and maintain order.
- Effective communication with Procurement, Finance, and Operations teams.
- Ability to follow processes, escalate issues, and work as part of a team.
