Job Purpose
Reporting to the Regional Business Development Manager, Northern Corridor, the overall purpose of the Sales & Marketing Manager is developing and managing the country sales and marketing initiatives in line with Group strategy and ensure delivery of Plan/Budget Volumes, Margins and operational KPI’s in Uganda.
Financial:
- Achieve budgeted volumes and margins as per the annual Sales plans targets for South Sudan.
- Strict adherence to credit management as stipulated in the company’s standard operating procedures.
- Timely debt collection from all customers and adhere hence to the signed off contractual agreement with all customers.
- Develop new customer portfolio and grow business from existing customers.
- Manage operating expenses according to plan.
Business Performance
- Manage sales and marketing activities, creating wide portfolio of clientele, tenders and propose shift in market strategies from time to time to meet the agreed budgets.
- Provide Market intelligence insights by proactive involvement with various contacts to extract relevant information and through research to drive profitability.
- Monitoring sales, stock, supply to the region for trading business and publish a management reporting on regular basis.
- Share information with management critical for strategy and any new information on new projects and various opportunities in the market.
- Champion professional relationships with various Government agencies, statutory authorities, trade groups, business forums, other industry players, professional associations, industry associations in building a strong network within the industry.
- Create and maintain positive awareness about the company within the corporate and governmental community.
- Implement timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customer needs and objectives
- Carry out Sales forecast in line with market dynamics and sign off the same with Supplies team for timely sourcing of product and effective S&OP processes
- Timely collection and ensure full Compliance with Credit policy and effectively address issues that arise in order to minimize Company exposure to bad debt and working capital requirement.
- Effectively use the sales tools to generate, manage and deliver sales in line with approved budget.
Compliance
- Ensure the company is in compliance with legal and other regulatory requirements regarding sales in order to avoid any breach of law or policy.
- Carry out proper mapping of policies, procedures and process parameters with accounting systems
- Adhere to credit and sales approval process whilst dealing with customers as outlined in the Company processes and procedures
Stakeholder Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain close working relationships with the supply and logistics team to ensure proper planning of product to achieve business target satisfying the customers’ needs
- Work with the Head of Supply and Distribution , Operations Manager and Business Development Manager to translate business strategy into specific objectives and KPIs and track them on a regular basis.
- Facilitate regular communication and sales, debtors and collections reporting and improvement effectively.
Knowledge; Skills and Experience required for this Role
- University Degree in Business Development / Marketing /Commerce or related field
- At least 6 years demonstrated experience in Oil Industry / Related Industry
- Computer literate
- Strong business negotiation skills
