Sales and Marketing Officer 

Kampala | Uganda


Our Client in the software development industry has an exciting opportunity for a Sales and Marketing Officer to join their team. As a Sales and Marketing Officer, you will be responsible for promoting and selling the company's products and/or services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies to achieve the company's goals and objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, competitive landscape, and industry trends.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify and generate new leads and sales opportunities through various channels, including cold calling, networking, and digital marketing.
  • Plan and attend trade shows, events, webinars, exhibitions other lead-generation activities.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals to potential customers.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with customers.
  • Create and maintain marketing materials, including website content, whitepapers, case studies, and other sales enablement materials.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including Operations Management, System Development, and Technical Support, to ensure product/service positioning and messaging align with customer needs.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and objectives.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on sales performance and marketing activities.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, computing, IT, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in sales and marketing, preferably in a software product company. 
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficient in marketing automation tools. 

Compensation

You will work on a retainer and commission basis, with the retainer covering your fixed salary and the commission based on your sales performance.
