Job summary
The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and order in all kitchen and food preparation areas. The role supports the culinary team by ensuring proper washing of dishes, utensils, and equipment, maintaining sanitation standards, and assisting in basic kitchen operations in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Clean and sanitise all kitchen utensils, dishes, equipment, and work areas in accordance with hygiene standards.
- Ensure proper waste disposal and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and storage areas at all times.
- Assist chefs with basic kitchen support duties such as food preparation and moving supplies when required.
- Follow food safety, health, and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Handle, store, and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies properly, reporting any shortages or damages.
