Location: Kampala or Entebbe

Position Overview: This position is responsible for coordinating procurement processes and activities to deliver optimal cost, quality, and sustainability as per defined company standards and geared towards the achievement of business objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Implementing the procurement strategy and appropriate plans.
  • Conducting market intelligence and identifying appropriate suppliers with a focus on maximizing quality, service, cost, sustainability, etc.
  • Building and managing supplier relationships.
  • Effective purchasing of goods and services to ensure the best pricing at the desired quality.
  • Assuring proper storage and safe custody of goods/materials as per company policy.
  • Ensuring timely, accurate, and cost – effective resupply of the camp.
  • Ensuring effective management of the store.
  • Managing inventory levels to ensure adequate stocking of relevant operational materials/goods.
  • Monitoring expiry dates on ordered and stocked items.
  • Monitoring supplier performance with a focus on optimizing cost, quality, service, and sustainability.
  • Managing third-party transporters with a focus on enhancing service delivery.
  • Ensuring supplier adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring all procurement processes & activities comply with relevant legislation.


Required Skills & Qualifications
  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and relevant certification (s)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the safari industry is preferred
  • Negotiation
  • Commercial acumen
  • Meticulous attention to detail as well as a learning mindset
  • Good communication skills, a service delivery mindset, and a strong customer service focus
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Teamwork
  • Applicants must have proven experience working in safari operations and lodge services, with a strong understanding of guest hospitality standards, wildlife tourism activities, and day-to-day lodge management procedures.
