Job Purpose
• Interacting with customers in suggesting menu items that can satisfy the customer needs and accepting payment from them for products served .
Key Result Areas
• To manage transactions with customers using cash machines and POSSIT to calculate customers’ bills.
• To check the bills to ensure the correct amount has been displayed and print them out.
• To inform customers about available menu items, Promotions and modes of payments.
• To place printed bills in folders to be presented to customers.
• To collect payments whether in cash or credit.
• Process credit and debit card payments and ensure that customers sign receipts.
• To answer customers’ questions regarding billed items.
• To issue receipts, refunds and or change.
• To resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information.
• To count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct.
• To track transactions whilst reconciliation and report any discrepancies.
• To sort, count and wrap currency and coins and arrange for them to be deposited to the reporting authority.
• To assist waiters and servers during rush hours by packing takeaways and leftovers.
• To count and balance stock physical and on the system

• Maintain a good decorum of the restaurant and behaving in a professional manner

• Pay attention to guest requests and fulfils them while increasing sales
• Helps gains customer loyalty through high standard of service.
• Encourages guests to post their feedback on the guest channels available

• Cash flow Management (No discrepancies)
• Opening and closing of shifts with proper handover of stock , cash, and float
• Reconciling and updating stock in the system.
Person Specification
Skills / Competence Requirements
Qualification/Education
• High School Diploma/Certificate in Food and beverage service-Prefferd
• Advanced level certificate -Minimum.
• Fluent in Business Language -English
Skills & Experience
• Minimum of 2-3 + years of experience working as a Wait staff in a restaurant.
• Prior customer service experience preferred.
• Numerical skills and Basic computer awareness.
• Sales-oriented

• Quickly memorise of restaurant menu’s and Promotions
• Positive attitude and good command of business language-English
• Good in organization and time management skills.
