Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial records, reconciliations, inventory tracking, and monthly reporting. This role is critical to maintaining clean, accurate accounts and supporting external accountants for statutory filings.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Records
● Record all daily financial transactions accurately
● Maintain organised and well-classified ledgers
● Ensure correct posting of sales, expenses, payments, and transfers
Reconciliations
● Reconcile bank accounts, mobile money, and card payments
● Reconcile inventory, receivables, payables, and petty cash
● Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
Inventory & Cost Tracking
● Maintain accurate stock-in / stock-out records
● Track cost of goods sold (COGS)
● Reconcile system stock with physical counts
Payroll & Expenses
● Track salaries, commissions, staff advances, and reimbursements
● Prepare payroll summaries for management approval Monthly Reporting
● Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements
● Prepare cash flow summaries
● Submit reports by agreed deadlines
Compliance Support
● Maintain proper documentation for audits and tax filings
● Work closely with external accountants
● Ensure smooth and complete handovers
Qualifications & Experience
● Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
● Minimum 2–4 years bookkeeping experience
● Experience in retail or inventory-based businesses preferred
● Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets
● Experience working with accounting software such as Odoo or Zoho
● Exposure to systems that integrate accounting with CRM or sales platforms
● Willingness and ability to support migration to an integrated accounting/CRM system

● Accurate and timely transaction entries
● Zero unreconciled balances at month-end
● On-time monthly financial reports
● Clean audit trail and documentation
Compensation & Benefits
● Salary: UGX 500,000 – 600,000 per month (depending on experience)
● Lunch: Provided
● Transport allowance: UGX 100,000 per month
