Job summary
As an Audit Associate, you will be a key member of the engagement teams, responsible for examining financial records and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will work closely with senior auditors and clients to uphold financial integrity and provide actionable business insights.

- Participate in audit planning and risk assessment meetings, to define the scope and timeline for specific engagement areas in accordance with relevant IASs.
- Perform substantive testing on account balances (e.g., cash, inventory, accounts payable) and verify third-party evidence by sending confirmations and reviewing bank statements or contracts.
- Prepare clear work papers that detail objectives, risks, testing procedures, and conclusions in accordance with firm methodology.
- Assist in assessing the design and operational effectiveness of a client’s internal controls through walkthroughs and transactions.
- Verify financial statements that comply with relevant auditing standards such as IAS, GAAP, IFRS, or local statutory regulations.
- Manage the end-to-end client acceptance process, including setting up new audit files, forwarding previous year data, and establishing secure collaboration sites for document exchange.
- Lead the processing of third-party audit confirmations for banks, accounts receivable, and legal counsel, tracking responses and performing follow-up procedures.
- Respond to and clear review notes from Senior Associates or Managers, updating work papers to address technical queries or documentation gaps.
- Actively participate in firm-wide training on new auditing standards.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and review of simple tasks performed by audit interns or apprentices.
- Identify process gaps during testing and draft initial findings or recommendations for the Management Letter to help clients improve their internal systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs).
- Professional certifications .e.g. CPA or ACCA level 1 preferred.
- Relevant work experience of 1 year in auditing, accounting or finance.
