The position requires regular field visits to monitor individual clients, maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to organizational policies and rules.

Job summary. 
A Credit Officer (CO) is primarily responsible for managing a portfolio of SAJIDA Enterprise Loan (SEL) which involves marketing/surveying, loan generation, loan disbursement,  weekly/biweekly/monthly instalment collection, digitization, delinquency management &  administrative work. The position requires regular field visits to monitor individual clients,  maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to organizational policies and rules. 

Key responsibilities 
1. Client management: 
• Surveying/marketing organization’s product line in potential business area to  find potential clients on a daily basis. 
• Organizing potential clients, giving them orientation training regarding  organization’s product line, fee structure & necessary requirement of the  loan. 
• Verifying each client to confirm their credit worthiness, filling admission form  to admit them to the institution & verifying required documents. 
• Overseeing 15-20 clients daily & minimum 100 active clients per week.  
• Visiting scheduled clients daily, updating passbooks, following up with  overdue & ensuring guarantor responsibility to manage overdue.  
• Providing financial literacy training to the individual members to train them on  loan utilization, loan sharing, loan increment, new product line & holidays. 

2. Loan and financial management: 
  • Achieving the organization’s set targets regarding Key Performance  Indicators (KPIs) such as the number of clients, portfolio outstanding &  Portfolio at Risk (PAR).
  • Originating loans, filling up loan application forms, verifying the clients &  guarantors, getting recommendation from the Branch Manager & Approval  from Area Manager/Coordinator.
  • Submitting approved loan application forms to Branch accountant at least  a day before the disbursement, ensuring exact clients get the loan & orient  the client on loan amount, weekly installment amount, fees & charges,  security amounts & update the passbook. 
  • Realizing weekly/Biweekly/Monthly loan instalments & advances from  individual members, recording them on the respective client’s passbook.  Protecting the realized amount in a secured manner while transporting to  other member & back to office.
  • Updating the exact loan installment realization via mobile app at the  client’s place & syncing the installment into the system when back to the  office.
  • Depositing loan installment realization & advance realization to the  accountant in time, writing cashbook & signing on the depositor’s space  for amount deposited.
  • Processing security return & security adjustment in presence of the client,  signing on the security return register for each security adjustment &  security return. 
  • Maintain accurate loan-related forms and registers on a daily basis,  avoiding corrections with white ink.
  • Liaise with Field Officer & Branch Manager to graduate SML client to SEL  loan product. 
  • Encourage clients to adopt to monthly collection method & pay  installment digitally via SAJIDA Microfinance’s Mobile Money account. 

3. Administrative duties 
  • Mastering the organization’s mission, vision & values to practice them on day to-day activities. Ensuring Health, Happiness & Dignity for all.
  • Complying with all manuals, policies & circulars outlined by the  organization.
  • Attend the office in time, signing the branch office's attendance and  movement register regularly.
  • Preparing and submitting daily/weekly/monthly plans for loan  disbursement to the Branch Manager.
  • Preserving all official documents in accordance with the data privacy  policy of the organization.
  • Attending meetings & trainings organized by the institution.
  • Preparing, Analyzing & submitting daily/weekly/monthly performance  related reports the supervisor.
  • Joining & leading teamwork on a regular basis to help & uplift branch  performance. Maintaining respectful relationship with both peers &  clients at level.
  • Always refrain from fraudulent activities, financial & non-financial  irregularities. Attend administrative proceedings outlined by the  organization once proven with fraud & misappropriation. 
  • Performing any other responsibility assigned by the management. 

Compensation

● Salary: UGX 600,000 – 700,000 


Note:

Please note that successful candidates must be willing and able to relocate from Kampala (or their current location) to any part of the country where the company has branches.
